Follow us on the Daytona State College Environmental Club Facebook

We usually do our cigarette butt clean ups on the weekend when it's quiet, but this one, we want everyone to see! Let's all try to wear red so people see us. This event coincides with Tobacco Free Florida's quit smoking week. At our last clean up we collected 10,000 cigarette butts!

No Butts Program

The No Butts Program will take place in Volusia and Flagler counties at Daytona State College’s six campuses from July 2010 through June 2011. Students, employees, and the community will be provided various opportunities by way of free events, educational and outreach materials, and training programs to increase their awareness of the negative health and environmental effects of tobacco. Surveys will be utilized to understand needs and interest in a tobacco-free campus as well as measure knowledge acquired throughout the year by the various activities and efforts of the No Butts Program. This grant proposal on behalf of Daytona State College is a collaborative effort on the part of the following departments and clubs:

to increase tobacco cessation awareness opportunities for the students and employees as well as begin formulating a five year plan for the implementation of a tobacco-free campus initiative.
